Dismantling doesn't include any harmful steps. Nonetheless workers should wear personal protection equipment like gloves, goggles, apron and robust shoes.

Note: This is a general guide for most DVD players. As the construction can differ, the dismantling steps mentioned below can vary in their order. However, the described steps show what parts the removal should focus on.

What you need

1. Step 1 DVD Player
  Remove all the screws from the side and the back of the casing.

  Remove the metal case.

  Remove the front cover.

  Remove all the screws from the PWB

  Unplug the cables from the PWBs.

  Remove all the screws from the other PWB.

  Remove the screws from the DVD drive.
  
  Peel off the wires from the drive.

  Cut the wires off the PWB.
  
  Remove the PWB.

  Cut off the display and remove it.

11. Step 10
  Separate the remaining materials according to their type and go on with the appropriate data sheet (e.g. aluminium, ferrous metals, plastic, further PWBs, etc.).
  
  Make sure the plastic parts are completely free of metal pieces.
