Dismantling doesn't include any harmful steps. Nonetheless workers should wear personal protection equipment like gloves, goggles, apron, robust shoes and, especially for the vacuum cleaner, dusk masks.

Note: This is a general guide for most vacuum cleaners. As the construction can differ, the dismantling steps mentioned below can vary in their order. However, the described steps show what parts the removal should focus on.

  Remove loose parts and the cover.

  Remove the dust bag.

  Remove the filter on the back of the vacuum.
  
  Remove the rubber seal.

  Cut the power cable.

  Some vacuum cases need to be unscrewed to remove.

  Pry open the case.

  Remove all the metal from the plastic parts of the cable drum.

  Pry off the plastic cover of the switch.
  
  Remove the nut.

  Remove the PWB.
  
  Remove the screws that connect the PWB to the aluminium.
  
  Cut the wires of the PWB.

  Remove the motor.

  Separate the remaining materials according to their type and go on with the appropriate data sheet (e.g. aluminium, ferrous metals, plastic, further PWBs, etc.).
  
  Make sure the plastic parts are completely free of metal pieces.
